A Day on Set at TSN and Bell Media with Maxime Crépeau

One of ghe great privileges of working on set is getting a behind the scenes look at the creative spaces that bring productions to life, and our recent visit to TSN and Bell Media in Toronto was no exception.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear we were surrounded by people who genuinely care about the craft of production. There is something incredibly energizing about working with directors and creative teams who share the same passion for storytelling, detail, and visual excellence. It sets the tone for the entire shoot and gives everyone the confidence that the project is in capable hands.

It was also an incredible day on set with Maxime Crépeau, Canadian soccer player and all around great human. Maxime was an absolute delight to work with and brought a fantastic sense of humor to the day. The energy on set was high, collaboration was seamless, and there were plenty of laughs along the way. Seven meat pie jokes later, it was safe to say the atmosphere was one of genuine fun and creativity.

A special thank you to Sophia LaFleur, who directed the shoot and generously made time to share a piece of broadcast history. Sophia gave me a personal tour of the iconic RCA TK42, a legendary 1965 color television camera. This camera was one of the first portable color broadcast cameras and played a major role in bringing live color television to audiences around the world. Weighing over 100 pounds and requiring a dedicated control unit, it represents a remarkable chapter in broadcast innovation. Seeing one up close was a real treat and a reminder of how far production technology has come.

Exploring the studio, learning about the equipment, and working alongside such passionate creatives was a true highlight. Huge thanks again to Sophia LaFleur, Maxime Crépeau, and the teams at TSN and Bell Media for the warm welcome, inspiring collaboration, and unforgettable day on set. We look forward to many more projects together.
